around the world in 333 days

In February this year, Jonathan Enoch received a phone call that would change his life forever. He was told that he had been chosen as the winner of two around the world air tickets and 2000 spending money. When he casually filled in a postcard and entered the competition he really didn't think that in a few months he and his girlfriend would be taking a year out of university to travel the globe and turn their dreams into reality.

With rucksacks packed and visas arranged, Liz and Jon arrive at Heathrow ready to begin the trip of a lifetime. First they fly into the hustle and bustle of Delhi, right in the heart of India, from where they will explore the surrounding region of Rajasthan. Next they'll travel by train to the beautiful beaches of Goa before flying out of the home of Bollywood, Bombay.

London to Delhi will without doubt be Jon and Liz's biggest culture shock and something nothing can really prepare them for. India will prove challenging, and enjoyable first stop on their around-the-world-trip and make an ideal crash course in life as a back packer. We hope you will all join us in wishing them well on their adventure and enjoy the reports as they come in.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH

Jon Enoch
Age: 20 - Born: Dorchester, Dorset

Jon studied Geography, Business and Biology at A-level. After finishing school he explored his musical interests, playing guitar with "Coldhabour", a band started with fellow school friends. Six months of getting nowhere persuaded them all to pack their bags (and guitars) and head off through Europe during which time Jon developed a keen interest in photography. Jon eventually landed a place at Sheffield University, reading geography where he met...

Liz Wigg
Age:20 - Born: Manchester

Liz studied History, English and Business at A-Level. With her sights set on a legal career she enrolled at Sheffield University's reading law but a last minute change of heart saw her switching to History. Liz has many interests including the theatre which landed her a chorus part in "Mad for It" (a play tracking the history of dance culture), which has proven to be her most enjoyable role yet. She is an avid Manchester City fan and has been a season ticket holder for as long as she can remember.
